FHV Antigen Rapid Test Cassette (Eye Secretion) is a sandwich
lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative
detection of Feline Herpes virus antigen (FHV Ag) in feline’s
conjunctiva fluid (eye secretion).

Description:
FHV Antigen Rapid Test Cassette is based on sandwich lateral flow
immunochromatographic assay. The test cassette has a testing
window. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and C
(control) zone. When sample is applied into the sample well on the
cassette, the liquid will laterally flow on the surface of the test
strip. If there is enough feline herpes virus antigen in the
sample, a visible T line will appear. The C line should always
appear after a sample is applied, indicating a valid result. By
this means, the cassette can accurately indicate the presence of
feline herpes virus antigen in the sample.
How to use?
Allow the test cassette, specimen, buffer, and/or controls to
equilibrate to room temperature (15-30 °C) prior to testing.
1. Collect feline’s eye secretion with the swab stick. Make the
swab wet sufficiently.
Note: Collect eye secretion from upper and lower eyelids, please
avoid secretions at the corner of the eye.
2. Insert the wet swab into the provided buffer tube. Agitate it to
assure good sample extraction.
3. Place the test cassette on a clean and level surface. Hold the
dropper vertically and transfer 2 drops of extracted sample
(approximately 80 μL) to the specimen well (S) of the test
cassette, then start the timer. See illustration below.
4. Read the result at 5 minutes. Do not interpret results after 10
minutes.
INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
Positive: The presence of both C line and T line, no matter T line is clear
or vague.
Negative: Only clear C line appears.
Invalid: No colored line appears in C zone, no matter whether T line
appears.
